Happy Thursday! Hope you are all having a great week so far! I hate to be whiny here, but I’m going to be for a second. My week has gone by so slowly and I’ve been irritable from the heat. I know mid-80’s is laughable to some of you but for the PNW natives who also don’t have air conditioning, you know this is kind of hellish. The smoke still hasn’t subsided either so to make the heat worse, there’s an actual blanket of smoke covering us. Moving right along…today’s post is a sad attempt to make myself feel cooler because I’m totally channeling fall vibes with this outfit. This boho ruffle tunic just makes me want to go to a pumpkin patch and take basic pictures. Fall, where you at?!
Okay now that I got some whining out of the way (which I usually just save for Twitter) I figured I should share some positive things. Might as well lighten up the mood here right? I frequently write out positive things from my day in my journal to help me turn a bad day around. It might not work for you, but I’d give it a try just in case!
– Tomorrow I’m going to Yakima with a few coworkers for some wine tasting and relaxation. I’m excited aside from the 100+ degree temps. (What am I supposed to wear in that kind of heat?!)
– I just found out that my mom and brother are coming to Seattle next week! I can’t wait to spend some time with them.
– Jared and I caved and got Amazon Prime again. I haven’t had it since I was in college and I cycled through several student emails to get free trials (lol). I’ve already ordered two things this week and wow, same day shipping is amazing. Shopping problem here I come.
– Lots of exciting stuff coming to the blog soon. The past few weeks have been great in terms of opportunities but it’s also overwhelming. Remember back in January when I shared I would be taking a more mindful approach to blogging? I’m still sticking to that, don’t worry. I don’t say yes to everything mind you but having a variety of collaborations to work on inspires me again.
It’s the little things, I tell ya. They really can make a difference in your day and that “reflection” certainly helped me feel better.
This boho ruffle tunic is something I wouldn’t normally choose but it looked so cute on the model that I had to give it a try. Turns out, I’m in love with it and I can’t wait to wear it more in the fall. There’s something about the flowy shape and olive color that makes me think of crisp leaves, pumpkin patches, and all the other basic fall things. The reason why I’m posting this in the middle of this heat wave is because I got away with wearing it to work. For once, the intense air conditioning was in my favor and I got to dress like it’s October! For those of you who are also craving cooler temps and love clothes with boho vibes, you need this top. You can get 50% off your first order if you sign up for emails by the way.
Have a great rest of your week! I’ll be back after the weekend. If I can manage to take some photos in the Yakima heat, I’ll be sure to share some photos from our day trip :)
