Another new month means it’s time to share my June goals! I’m also going to quickly recap how May went in terms of my personal and blog goals. I would love to hear from you if you want to share your monthly goals with me as well. Not only does it inspire me to hear others’ goals, but it can definitely help with accountability once you share your goals with someone else. By the way, how beautiful are these flowers that Jared bought me recently?
-Decorate our apartment more. The naked walls are bugging me!
-Blog 2x a week, continuing to use my editorial calendar.
-Be more active: I want to go hiking or kayaking this month.
-Initiate more friend dates. I’m bad at initiating things and I need to start asking, rather than relying on others to ask me to hang out.
-Sell and donate old clothes, jewelry, etc. I’m hoping to round up a bunch of stuff for organizations like Mary’s Place, a women’s shelter.
-Take Instagram less seriously! This is related to my goal last month. I already switched back from my business account to a personal account just so I wouldn’t keep checking the analytics. I’m going to test this out for a bit. As well as posting whatever and whenever I want. It’s hard to kick old habits, but I’m trying. This algorithm business is SO annoying but it’s not the end of the world.
Rather than going line by line, I figured I’d do a paragraph to summarize my monthly goals as a general recap. I was pretty good with my daily habits although the amount of time I spend in the bathroom each day is so much longer now. (Sorry Jared.) I didn’t really plan my outfits as much as I liked to, but I planned ahead for special days at least. Taking walks was a bit of a fail but on the other hand, Jared and I did explore a new place: Leavenworth for him, Cashmere for me. I only finished one book but at least I’ve started the second book! (I’m reading The Obsession by Nora Roberts.)
In terms of my blogging goals, I totally utilized my editorial calendar to help me with my goal of 3 posts a week. However I discovered it’s unrealistic for my schedule and I don’t really like the frequency. I think two times a week (maybe Monday/Thursday) is better for me. At the end of the week, readership usually drops off and people are not as inclined to be reading blogs. So posting on Fridays isn’t really something I want to prioritize. Consistent posting was still a success in May and I’m proud of it!
I did better when it comes to posting what I want on Instagram and when I shared. Even double posting one day and I never do that ;) It’s still ingrained in my head to post at certain hours and overthink my strategy in general. So this month I’ll be untraining myself to think of it as a job.
What are your monthly goals? Let me know if any of these goals seem like interesting topics you would like to see on my blog! I’m always brainstorming different content to post about but it helps to hear what you want to read.
