I am pretty pale right now but let’s just pretend that I don’t look like a ghost for the rest of this post. I know I don’t talk about living in the Pacific Northwest or the Seattle weather enough (that’s sarcasm) but just a reminder to any newbies around here, I don’t have the chance to get bronzed unless I get out of Washington. (Or self tan but that’s too high maintenance for me.) Last month’s vacation to London was not exactly a big help either. Anyway, the cold shoulder dress is one of my favorite trends this year so I’m excited to share this post!
Shopping for a cold shoulder dress? These are all super cute and all under $100, most under $60!
Although the weather is constantly switching from sunny to gloomy, there are signs of spring everywhere. The cherry blossoms are a huge hit around here and this is the first year that I’m not getting to see them on the UW campus as a student. Luckily there are always random pockets of cherry blossom trees everywhere I look. In fact, this is a random residential street that had some beautiful trees. So much less crowded than the UW Quad would have been!
Other signs of spring: allergy symptoms, going sock-less more often, and having natural daylight well after I get home from work. (If you have a side hustle like a blog, you understand how valuable this can be!)
The longer days are definitely helping me feel more motivated to get more done after work. I’m the biggest fan of hanging out at home and staying in, but lately I’ve been craving more change in my day to day. Whether that’s going outside for a walk during sunset (I’m obsessed with sunsets!) or saying yes to more events on weekdays, I find that the longer days are making it much easier to get out and do stuff.
Last week I went to two events during the week and it’s amazing how much faster my week seemed to speed by. I had the chance to go to a preview of the newly remodeled Fred Meyer in Bellevue one night. I’ve been shopping at Fred Meyer my entire life but have never been in such a nice store with so many offerings. I also went to DRY Sparkling’s HQ for the launch of canned ginger DRY soda. The last time I had gone to their HQ was in December so it was nice to go while it was light outside! We had some amazing cocktails and food from Japonessa. (My favorite place for HH sushi!) I also got my nails done by the ladies at Juniper so I’ll have to share the cute manicure they gave me in another post.
Outfit details: Cold shoulder dress c/o TOBI | H&M leather jacket (this similar one on sale!) | Bucket bag c/o DailyLook | H&M wool hat | Cut out booties (I can’t find the brand anymore, but have found similar ones here for only $20) | BP sunglasses | Pave bar necklace c/o Rocksbox
This cold shoulder dress is so cute with the floral embroidery and tiny bit of skin it shows. I do love the off the shoulder trend but it’s harder to move around in. (I’m sharing an off the shoulder dress in an upcoming post actually!) Since this dress has straps, you never worry that it’s going to fall off. I do wish the straps were adjustable, but otherwise this is such a fun piece that I’ll be wearing until the end of summer. On my lips is TPSY Whipstick in Entrophy. Since I don’t wear a whole lot of color, I figure a little bit of colorful makeup would help :) You can check out more Korean beauty mini reviews in my recent blog post here.
