Nothing says October like pumpkins because just about everything this month has to do with pumpkins. Pumpkin patches, pumpkin bread, carving pumpkins, and of course – the pumpkin spice latte. I personally don’t care for it and I would rather have a chai tea latte..do you like PSL’s?
On a recent grocery store run, I picked up the cutest baby pumpkins and decided to decorate them somehow because I wanted some festivity in my apartment. I don’t have a porch for a big pumpkin but these little ones are perfect for a desk, a shelf, or a window sill.
I love to doodle and all of my notebooks for class and planner have Sharpie doodles over them. This is the easiest, most inexpensive way to decorate your pumpkins and personalizing them. So then I decided to use just that method and I drew some designs on the top of the pumpkin and wrote “Hello, Fall” on one side. I also got inspired by this adorable Kate Spade planner and drew gold polka dots on the pumpkin.
In the midst of midterms, I wasn’t able to do much else DIY-ing but I did make sure to scout out my favorite pumpkin decor ideas from others. The winner of all has to be this donut pumpkin from my Instagram friend Lindsay (@northern_daisy). She takes awesome pictures so follow her! I’m obsessed with sprinkles so this is hands down the best pumpkin DIY I’ve seen so far. All of the other donut pumpkins I’ve seen have painted on sprinkles and that’s just not as tasty :)
If you want to see more ideas on how to decorate your pumpkins without carving them, check out Lauren Conrad’s ideas here. While you’re over there, check out her amazing Halloween costume. I might have a minor crush on her.
Be sure to check out my last post with some Autumn style tips on how to mix and match patterns featuring my friend Christina! I’ll have another Autumn style post up soon, so look out for that. Have a safe Halloweekend, everyone! Until next time –
