Happy weekend, y’all! Popping in to share a few of my July monthly favorites. Before I get started, I wanted to point out the new Seattle category in my sidebar. I write about Seattle a fair amount so I decided those posts needed an official category. While Seattle may be a travel destination for some of you, I’m reserving the travel category for places I myself travel to :)
And yes, I was really extra and arranged my mochis on a cake stand. Now that I’m an adult I’m realizing there are many more opportunities to play with my food than I ever thought there would be. Not mad about it.
Also, my dream of taste testing cupcakes was finally fulfilled when I got to try out the new Yumfetti cupcake from Trophy Cupcakes! Funfetti was always my favorite cupcake flavor growing up and I LOVE those circus animal cookies so this was a really yummy, nostalgic treat. They are really cute too so these are a perfect treat for a party or as a gift to someone. By the way, I’m not obligated to write about any of these products. Just sharing my honest opinions!
Jared and I also tried making cauliflower pizza crust recently. It was good but I have to say I’m going to buy the premade cauliflower crust from Trader Joe’s in the future. Homemade pizza might be my new favorite meal! We topped ours with barbecue chicken, red onions, tons of spinach, and mozzarella. SO yummy.
My balayage has already lost the intensity of its ashy tone, however I’ve found this Joico shampoo really helps with keeping it as cool as possible without getting it toned at a salon. Everyone kept telling me to get purple shampoo and admittedly, I didn’t think it would work. It’s not an overnight difference but after a few washes I could really tell the difference in my color. Some people complain that purple shampoo dries their hair out but the Joico has given me no issues. I am really consistent with using hair masks and deep conditioners so I’m sure that helps. Since my hair is also brown, I’d like to try the blue shampoo as well.
I’m not a perfume wearer. My mom has really sensitive allergies so I grew up keeping those glittery body sprays to a minimum. Unfortunately I myself have inherited some of the sensitivities and I still sneeze every time someone doused in perfume walks by. When I was sent a complimentary set of Kat von D Saint and Sinner perfumes from Influenster, I didn’t think I would have much interest in them. I was wrong. Saint is the yummiest scent and I’ve been wearing it almost every day. It’s a mixture of fresh and sweet which is right up my alley. The best part? No sensitivities here! I find it to have a pretty long-wearing scent too.
Hope you guys had a good weekend! Mine was pretty slow and I ended up not getting as much blog work as I wanted. Trying to power through some work tonight because this upcoming week at work is going to be pretty busy. If you’re also a blogger with a different full time day job then you know how stressful it can be to juggle everything at once. On top of everything else, I’m currently in full on cleaning and decorating mode. (I’ve had my eye on this letter board for SO long!)
As I promised recently, I’m going to do my best to shoot more outfit photos for style content. Luckily I’ve had some companies send me a few goodies recently so I have plenty of new stuff to feature. This upcoming month should have much more style content! I’ll be writing about three new Seattle restaurants too – get ready, foodies!!
Thanks, as always, for reading!
