Oh, Korean beauty. If only you could see how many K-beauty Instagram videos I watch when I’m scrolling through my phone. Some of the concepts are so unique and fun to see in action! E-retailers and beauty boxes used to be the only way to get international products sadly. Now you can find Korean brands in brick and mortar stores though. Kind of backwards however it shows that retailers are catering to people (like me) who want instant gratification. That’s why I’ve been so excited that Nordstrom’s latest Pop-In features Korean brands. I’m excited to be able to get my hands on some new brands and products!
Find the products online below or shop these Korean beauty brands in store until March 26th at the flagship Downtown Seattle store or Nordstrom Bellevue Square. (Check out this page for other Pop-In locations in the US and Canada.)
Too Cool for School Egg Cream Microfiber Sheet Mask (Amazing for dry skin! If you have more oily skin try out the foam version.)
Too Cool for School Glam Rock Extreme Color Liquid Eyeliner (Goes on really smooth and does not transfer or crease throughout the day. I have oily lids so lasting power is a necessity! The brush tip is a bit soft so if you’re not a winged liner pro, it may be hard for you to use but I think it’s perfect! The navy color I received is fun because it adds a slight bit of color without being too obvious you are wearing blue on your eyes. We all know how scared of wearing color I am sometimes…)
107 ONEOSEVEN Premium Black Soap (Not actually black as the name suggests but a clear bar soap. This smells really nice and immediately lathers up into a foaming wash that cleanses pretty thoroughly. I always take my makeup off with a makeup remover and then follow with a cleanser and this really gets off all the remaining makeup. It’s not overly drying like you’d expect from a bar soap but I can see it being harsh if you have severely dry skin. As always, following up with the right moisturizer alleviates any uncomfortable dryness. I’m a fan of this one!)
TPSY Whipstick Liquid Lipstick (This feels like whipped cream because it is so airy! Doesn’t dry like a traditional liquid lipstick but acts more like a stain if you blot excess off. This does transfer so it’s not long lasting but it is comfortable over a lip balm.)
IPKN Mattifying Gel Primer (available in stores) (This doesn’t have that thick silicone-y feel which is nice. It’s light on the skin but I don’t think it’s so mattifying that you can skip setting powder. I would still use this in conjunction with a light dusting of powder if you have an oily t-zone.)
Too Cool for School’s Egg Mousse Pack dispenses in a foam that resembles a puff of shaving cream. It’s really fun and soothing to spread on your face. Honestly I was worried this would have any resemblance to actual eggs but this stuff smells SO good! After a few minutes on, the foam starts to disappear and it can be washed off easily. I’d recommend this for anyone looking for light moisture. Those with really parched skin would benefit more from the sheet mask because it is more rich. (This is real life: wearing your boyfriend’s crewneck and with third day hair. Eek.)
I’m wearing the TPSY liquid lipstick in ‘Entrophy’ which looks purple in the tube but gives the lips a nice light pink tint. So great for spring! After some wear you can freely apply lip balm over it and the color still lingers like a lip stain. However if you are looking for an all day lip color that doesn’t budge, I would probably skip this one.
