Before Jared and I go on any more trips, I wanted to continue chipping away at travel posts from my 2017 travels. I also have plenty of Hawaii photos to post but otherwise I’ve shared at least some photos from all our 2017 trips. (Honestly, why do I ever pretend I’ll get my posts up right after the trip?!) Our most recent trip together was to Las Vegas, Nevada. Here are some photos from the trip and a brief recap of what we did.
We stayed at Caeser’s Palace and were lucky to be hosted in the most amazing room! There was a giant shower that connected two separate bathrooms. Now I wish our apartment had two bathrooms as well! Below is a photo from one of the pools. We also tried out Caeser’s Bacchanal buffet but I didn’t think it was as amazing for how expensive it is. The food is stilll pretty good although beware of superrrrr long wait times.
Visiting the Bellagio for its beautiful conservatory and botanical gardens is one of my favorite things on the strip. The fall decor was stunning and worth the crowds. It’s incredible how much thought is put into the displays here.
If you’re in need of some fast, cheap bites head over to the LINQ hotel. Right outside of the hotel there are tons of restaurants including In-N-Out and Sprinkles Cupcakes. The famed cupcake ATM is here! You can thank me later after you try a red velvet cupcake. It is truly one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. In-N-Out is always a treat for those of us who live in a state without one. It goes without saying that this location tends to get very crowded so be prepared for a decent wait time and crowded restaurant.
The Cosmopolitan is further down the strip from where we stayed but definitely worth a visit. Grab a drink at the Chandelier bar which is reminiscent of a literal chandelier or…just take some photos of it and be on your way. (Way cheaper drinks all over the strip.) Unfortunately we were too full to get eggslut but I’ve heard great things. We did manage to save enough room for Milk Bar where you can get soft serve, boozy shakes, cookies, and more. I opted for cereal milk soft serve which is definitely a little weird, but nonetheless delicious.
Naturally we had to visit Taco Bell as soon as we found out they serve alcohol here. If you’re wondering how an alcoholic Baja Blast tastes, it tastes as good as you’d expect. 10/10 would recommend. #classy
Wandering through all the hotels is so much fun to me. A lot of it can be over the top and cheesy but I’m a big fan of that, apparently.
Anyone who knows me knows that sushi is my absolute favorite food. To make this vacation complete we had to get sushi at least once! We decided to go off the strip and tried out an all you can eat sushi restaurant called Sushi Way. Lunch and dinner ranges from $21-27 I believe and it’s such a great deal. We sat at the sushi bar and the chef just kept making us rolls and cutting sashimi. The fish was incredibly fresh and to this day I’m confused why some of the freshest fish I’ve had in the continental US was in a landlocked state. Oh well.
Jared and I wanted to see at least one show during our trip so we splurged and got tickets to two! Criss Angel at the Luxor was cheesy in my opinion but I heard his new show is better than it was in the past at least. He ran through our aisle since we weren’t far from the stage which I guess was fun…but I don’t think I’ll be going for round two haha. We also saw Absinthe since it was at our hotel and it was really good. It’s incredibly inappropriate but so so funny. If you get offended easily, I would skip this one. Tip: if you don’t like participating in shows or getting soaked, avoid sitting near the front. Sitting in the “back” is basically the same view, as it’s a small venue. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard.
I also tried gambling for the first time and it went awfully, to no one’s surprise. All in all Vegas was fun because of the company but I don’t think I’m in a rush to return anytime soon. It’s a LOT to handle!! The last time I went to Vegas my family had a lot of fun going out of the city for part of it. Hoover Dam, Seven Magic Mountains, and the Neon Museum are some spots I’d want to visit or revisit next time.
