Happy Spring everyone! This month marked 1 year since I graduated from college which also means it was my 3 year blogiversary. It doesn’t feel like I’ve been blogging for three years now because my blog has changed so much over time. When I started blogging, I was a sophomore in college. I didn’t have tons of time nor did I really know what I was doing. I am still learning so much about blogging and trying new things that it never feels old. It is really fun to have these memories to look back on though. Even reading my old favorites posts brings back memories and it even helps me rediscover some great things!
You probably know that at the beginning of the month I was still in London so of course the next week and a half I was jetlagged and not operating like a normal human being. That definitely shortened the month for me! (See here for part 1 and part 2 of my London travel diary!) And now here we are at the end of the month already which means I get to share some of the little joys from my life lately.
–Lady Yum: If you’re in the Seattle area, I’m sure you already know of and have tried Lady Yum macarons. In case you haven’t, you have to try the Shindig macaron. It has fruity pebbles in it and tastes amazing. I got the mint one for Jared and he loved it too, so I think it’s safe to say we will be back very soon. When I had afternoon tea in London the macarons weren’t even this good. That’s saying a lot right? Plus these are really cute, so if you’re like me and inclined to take pictures of everything you eat, what are you waiting for? I read that there will be a location at SeaTac airport soon so if you’re traveling through Seattle, these would be a great treat or gift.
–France Luxe pony tail holders: (c/o) I typically wear my hair down at work or when I’m going out, but I almost always have it tied up at home. Girls always talk about losing bobby pins (which is true) but I don’t use bobby pins much. Hair ties are my greatest enemy because I am always losing them in pockets, purses, and even in the car. Plus I’m really picky with my hair ties. All throughout college I almost exclusively used ribbon elastic hair ties but they get stretched out easily. They would also slide off my small wrists so I could never comfortably wear one on my arm. I’ve been loving these ones from France Luxe recently because they are thick enough to hold my crazy thick hair. They’re even pretty cute to wear on your wrist (and not too tight) which is great. The best part? There’s a whole stack of them! I think these will last me for a while despite me losing them like nobody’s business.
–Raw hem & distressed jeans: I know, I know. You’re probably sick of seeing this trend and to be honest, I was unsure at first. But here I am joining the masses and wearing jeans that look like someone haphazardly chopped with their kitchen scissors. (And if you read this post then you know that’s kind of what I did do to the olive pair below.) As with all other trends, I tend to be a slow adopter and I prefer a very minimal version of the trend. The raw hem jeans I bought below while in London don’t have giant gaping holes. As in, I would be comfortable wearing them in front of my grandma. Definitely one of my favorite souvenirs from my London trip. (And it was a cheap one! I love Primark and miss it already. I am trying to stray from fast fashion but old habits are hard to kick!)
Here are some other raw hem jeans I love:
–Batiste dry shampoo: I know Batiste has been around forever and you can buy this at most stores. However I got my first can of Batiste at a Superdrug in London which is probably the best drugstore I’ve ever been in for makeup. I loved seeing all the unique British products! Since Batiste is a UK product, it was significantly cheaper there and I am now kicking myself for not stocking up on more. I saw some sales and originally I think they are only 2.99 pounds! This is not only the best dry shampoo I have ever used, but this tropical one smells amazing. It also soaks up excess oil while actually making your hair look decent. Nothing is ever going to beat washing your hair in the shower, but this is definitely a close second. I can’t bring myself to spend a lot of money on dry shampoo especially after using this.
Currently listening to: Oh Honey, Sam Hunt, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran. I like a little bit of everything, evidently. I also have a weird habit where I will listen to one song on repeat for a few days until I get sick of it. This habit has stuck with me since I got my first iPod over 10 years ago. (Throwback to my 2GB iPod nano that I thought was so cool.) If I like something, I just play it on repeat for a few days. Am I the only one who does this?? Let me know if you do it too!
I’m obsessed with Baptistery dry shampoo! It’s literally the best!
Me too girl!! I wish that I had found it sooner. I thought I had tried them all but apparently I saved the best for last :)
Sam Hunt and Ed Sheeran are the best! I’m guessing you have Ed’s new CD? What’s your favorite on the album? I seriously can’t choose, it’s amazing!
Yay! Another fan :) They are all so good! My favorite changes from day to day, haha. I think my current favorite is Perfect!
