Oh hi, it’s me again, with another outfit that’s all about comfort and this ever-so-popular normcore trend. You may remember this recent post where I wore slip on sneakers with a dress or this outfit where I wore Nike Roshes with a blazer. In continuation of blending a little bit of athleticism with pieces that I would usually think to dress up, here’s how I paired a midi skirt with sneakers for (you guessed it) a Sunday brunch date. Just a heads up: this midi skirt is unbelievably affordable. Details below.
This skirt deserves a shoutout for two reasons: how comfortable it is and how affordable it is. It’s not made of anything fancy (poly/rayon/spandex blend) but that makes for a totally comfy bottom that still looks put together. After you see how affordable the skirt is, you’ll want to run (not walk) to Forever 21 and snag it. For all my online shopaholics, here you go – get it in 9 colors if you want. But you can never go wrong with black, just sayin’.

A little personal note: This was the first week of the last summer break of my life (so dramatic, I mean until I retire) but nonetheless, a big deal! I’m hanging out at home where there’s mom’s cooking, there aren’t sirens going off all the time, and it’s generally a lot slower paced than Seattle. I almost don’t know what to do with myself because I started getting really used to my work schedule during my internship. In fact, I still find myself waking up around 6:30 AM everyday. This time away from the bustling city and not having a lot on my plate has been really great though. Taking care of yourself is no joke, people. Do it.
I’ve always known that I wanted to be a career girl. With that in mind, I’ve also known that my life will probably be busy – all the time. So that’s why I’ve always been on a mission to pursue things that I love and don’t feel like work. Since there will always be work to do, it’s important to me to have something that’s just mine and makes me feel like I’m having fun. After a year and a half of blogging, I’m feeling good about where I am right now. When I started, I had a million and one things that I wanted to get better at. Looking back, I’ve knocked out quite a few of those things. There are still so many things left that I want to pursue when it comes to blogging, but that’s for the road ahead. It’s easy to be discouraged when it comes to something like blogging, for sure, but I’m a firm believer in celebrating the little victories too.
So…I’m getting to that point in the night where I’m feeling really rambly. I guess what I’m trying to say is if you don’t have that hobby that helps you unwind and have fun, I encourage you to try to find it. Personally, I always like a challenge so I picked a hobby that gives me tons of room to grow. That’s what keeps it fun and exciting.
Thanks for reading and stopping by! I think I’m going to start writing some more personal updates in some posts. If you’re not into the rambles, you can just skip over these – they will always be at the end of a post anyway.
