Happy Monday and almost Thanksgiving, my lovely friends who are also in the US! I’m so excited for you to check out today’s guest post from the talented Lindsay. She is my first guest blogger ever on Tiny Cup of Cake so please give her a welcome and head over to her blog and Instagram to give her some love! I wrote about some of my top favorite Instagram-able spots in Seattle for her blog so you can also check that out if you’re curious!
Hi there! I’m Lindsay and I blog my lifestyle and travel adventures over at northerndaisy.com. I love following Grace’s Seattle-based posts and was inspired to share a few Instagram-worthy places where I live. I’m currently based in Chico, Ca, which for those of you who have no idea where that is, it’s about 1.5 hours from California’s capital, Sacramento. The thing I really love about living in Northern California is the ability to take weekend trips all over the state with relatively short drives. Fun fact: Northern California has 48 counties, compared to Southern California’s 10. There’s plenty to explore, but here are five of my favorite places that make Instagramming oh-so-easy!
- Temple Coffee Roasters (Sacramento and Davis)
Temple Coffee Roasters has five locations spread across Sacramento and Davis and has increasingly become the go-to place for an exceptional cup of coffee and perfect patio vibes. Their newest location in Midtown features a floor made with over 500,000 hand-laid pennies which looks just as impressive as it sounds. If you pop in and Instagram your coffee adventure, be sure to hashtag your photo with #pennyflooryourthoughts.
- Bidwell Park (Chico, Ca)
Bidwell Park is one of the 25 largest city parks in the United States! From swimming holes to rock-formations and myriads of trees, Bidwell Park is the perfect place for both an adventurous hike, bike ride or a leisure picnic and stroll. The trees are especially gorgeous to capture in the Spring and Fall!
- Clarion Alley in the Mission District (San Francisco, Ca)
San Francisco is an eclectic city that favors funky color and unique character. One of my favorite spots is off of Valencia and Misson street is a hidden alley that contains San Francisco’s own version of a mural heaven. The murals are often changing, so it’s always worth a stop to join other Instagrammers in their pursuits of the perfect shot. Pro-tip: After you admire the murals, be sure to stop by Tacolicious — an equally adorable and delicious taco/cocktail bar!
- SF MOMA
San Francisco’s Museum of Modern Art has just been renovated to include tons of space with public art, making it the perfect spot to hang with friends and leave feeling inspired. Plus, there’s always fabulous installations and colorful pieces to enjoy.
- Wild Ink Press (Chico, Ca)
Wild Ink Press is a local shop with an actual printing press inside where the owner Rebecca Tennis creates her own product designs. It’s an impressive and airy space to find unique gifts or just take in the creative window displays and fun flooring. You can also find their products online at WildInkPress.com!
I hope this post gave you a little inspiration to visit some Instagram-worthy places in Northern California! You can find me on Instagram at @northern_daisy or at northerndaisy.com. Cheers!
