After typing the title of this post, all I can think about is the Friends episode when Joey misuses air quotes. I was mentally doing the air quote gesture while writing nothing to wear because this is clearly an exaggeration. Like most girls, I have accumulated way more clothing than necessary. My closet gets cluttered with forgotten items or things I simply don’t wear anymore. More often than not I stare at my clothes thinking I have absolutely nothing to wear. On days like that, my go to “uniform” is almost always a variation of this outfit. You can’t go wrong with stripes, leather, dark denim, and some black booties. This outfit is from London but I’ve also worn the outfit to work, while hanging out with friends, and just to run errands. On the topic of closet clutter, I do try my best to regularly clean out my things. I sell my gently worn clothing on platforms like Poshmark, donate to Goodwill/Value Village/etc., or give things to my friends and family. In college I loved to go thrifting but I ended up with a lot of cheap pieces that I only wore a few times. Not everything, but most. Since then I have really tried to change the way I consume things. I do look for quality over quantity but I can still be tempted by the occasional cheap thrill. Nothing wrong with affordable, fast fashion but I think it is important to balance the quantity by getting rid of something if you acquire something new.

This past weekend I didn’t have any plans so I decided to drive to my parent’s house for a visit. They live about a three hours drive south of Seattle so I don’t get to see them quite as often as I’d like. One of the highlights of every single visit is eating my mom’s food. She always puts so much effort into the food she makes and it’s honestly irreplaceable. Then every time I go home she sends me away with tons of food so I don’t have to cook for a few days. I’m going to have to work out to make up for all this yummy food I ate! My mom even got me two cakes for my birthday. She also sent me home with some plants because she’s the queen of house plants. I’m really hoping I don’t kill them like the last plants she gave me. (Do I have the best mother in the world? Yes.)
House plants are a welcome addition to our apartment since I’ve been working on tidying up and decorating. For my birthday, Jared got me the bar cart I’ve been eyeing for months! I’m still deciding how I want to decorate the cart itself but Pinterest is really helping out! I’ve pinned some ideas here. We also got some new dining chairs that I’ll have to share in a future post. Like everybody else in the world, I love Eames designs but I don’t love the prices. Instead of literally spending a thousand dollars on one chair we turned to our handy friends at Amazon. Frankly, I’m not sure how other retailers are in business because of Amazon. I think you can probably guess what style chairs we got :)
This week is going to be kind of a busy one but I will still be back to share my monthly favorites soon! Hope you all have a great week. For more daily updates, follow my Instagram.
