Anyone else still dreaming about the long weekend? I had such an amazing time exploring both near and far(ish) places with Jared. If you ever have the chance to date your best friend, I highly recommend it :) We went to Leavenworth one day, then played tourist in downtown Seattle, and then stayed in on Memorial Day. Keep scrolling for more about our weekend. But first! Let’s talk about this white lace off the shoulder top.
I couldn’t find this top anywhere online but you can find so many variations of off the shoulder tops at every single store now. Like practically everyone else, I love the trend but I’m going to be honest here. The worst part about off the shoulder tops and dresses is the fact you have to wear a strapless bra. I despise strapless bras. Okay maybe that’s because my only strapless bra that’s still alive and kicking is too small for me. But I could go on for an eternity listing things I’d rather do than go bra shopping. Oh, and there’s the fact that if you move your arm at all the top will probably move and be out of place. What a high maintenance piece of clothing!
But I digress. I do love off the shoulder tops. This little lace number is the sweetest top and it was a total steal at $10. Yeah. 10 dollars. So I guess I can let things slide for the sake of the cuteness here. Taking any and all recommendations for a good strapless bra too, people. Email me, comment, DM me, anything!
More about our Memorial Day weekend if you’re interested…
Leavenworth: Our first destination for the weekend was this Bavarian village inspired town that’s about 2 hours east of Seattle. We walked a bit, browsed some of the shops, and grabbed a few pints at Icicle Brewing Company. The pretzel with cheese sauce was delicious! I loved the raspberry beer too. The highlight of our trip? Tied between the amazing views on I-90 and indulging in BBQ. Country Boy’s BBQ is only a few miles past Leavenworth in Cashmere, WA. A must try! (Go to my Instagram to see what we ate.)
Then on Saturday, we decided to venture downtown to shop and eat. Ever since I moved to Seattle for college Jared and I loved to wander downtown. There are a lot of shops so we took advantage of some Memorial Day sales. (I found some amazing deals that I’ll share later!) We also wanted to get sushi at one of our favorite sushi restaurants, Japonessa. I’m so excited that they’re opening a location in Bellevue soon! To make the trip complete, we wandered Pike Place Market too. I wanted to buy all of the peonies naturally.
Monday was a pretty lazy day but I did manage to tidy up around the apartment, get a blog post up, and even picked up my car from an oil change. We grocery shopped on empty stomachs which is always smart….then ended up at Olive Garden for unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks. Super fancy, I know. But the chicken and gnocchi soup is my faaaavorite.
Hope you guys are having a great week! It’s kind of nice having a short week so we can get to the weekend faster :) Tonight I’m going somewhere really exciting so check out my Instagram story to see where!!
